Did you know that ETHS’ head basketball coach also coaches the USA Women’s National Team?
Brittanny Johnson recently completed her sixth season as the head girls basketball coach at Evanston Township High School. She’s guided ETHS to four consecutive seasons of at least 20 wins, including four Illinois High School Association regional championships and four Central Suburban League South Conference championships. The Wildkits have a 129-44 record under her leadership, and she’s been named the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District 4 Coach of the Year three times.
Johnson served as head coach of Kennedy-King College’s women’s basketball team from 2013 to 2016. She played basketball at Boston college, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in administrative studies.
In this edition of People You Should Know, Johnson is interviewed by ETHS alum Leighah Wool. Wool played for Johnson at ETHS from 2016 to 2017 and is the leading all-time scorer from ETHS. She recently graduated from Stony Brook University, where she played basketball. She also played basketball at Western Michigan University.
People You Should Know is a video series produced as a joint project of the RoundTable, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and Byline Bank.
