Evanston Made will host its First Saturdays Evanston, a citywide arts Initiative, from 9 a.m to 10:30 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 6. The daylong event provides an opportunity for the community to explore and experience Evanston’s thriving art scene.
Hosted on the first Saturday of each month, Evanston Made, a nonprofit arts organization based in Evanston, IL, collaborates with artists, arts organizations and business owners to showcase Evanston’s Creative Community.
Artist-run, this monthly event is entering its third year, and includes Open Studio Tours, Pop Up Exhibits, Artists Talks, Art on Exhibit and more. One highlight is the partnership between Evanston businesses and the artists, where businesses display art in windows and walls.
“Visibility is essential for visual artists and accessibility is essential for arts patrons! Each month more locations are added to the list of events for the day and we are thrilled to see businesses join in. This month the community is invited to browse and shop for art at the West Village Art Crawl, see Marjorie Davidson paintings at Prairie Avenue Cardshop and Gallery and eat at KOI in support of Evanston Made – there are events across Evanston!” says Evanston Made Founder and Executive Director, Lisa Degliantoni.
Evanston Made invites arts patrons to “design an art-filled day” using the list of events and a Google Map. Events are hosted 9 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. and are free to attend. The schedule is listed at evanstonmade.org/first-saturday-evanston/
First Saturday Art Events are hosted by Evanston Made, a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization with the mission to connect Evanston creatives to the public through programming and events. Visit evanstonmade.org to learn more about this organization.
