Hundreds of fans showed up Thursday night to watch the Evanston Wildkits take the field at their first public football scrimmage of the season.

All three teams—freshmen, junior varsity and varsity—played short practice games. The Wildkit Marching Band and Cheerleading squad led the varsity team onto Lazier Field. The eight-game regular season starts for real on Friday, Aug. 26 at Lazier Field against Kenosha (Wisconsin) Indian Trail.
