Evanston Township High School is inviting parents and guardians of current students to an Open House from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 29.

- Open House: Aug. 29, 6 -9 pm — ETHS parents and guardians are invited to attend our Open House event on Aug. 29 from 6-9 p.m. with or without their current ETHS student(s) in grade 9-12. Younger siblings may attend if accompanied by an adult. Parents of students enrolled in advanced middle school math courses at ETHS are also invited to attend their child’s math class during Open House to meet their teacher. The ETHS Open House event provides opportunities for community engagement.
- Meet and Greet Sessions: 6 – 6:45 p.m. Equity Conversations and New Leadership
- New Leadership: The superintendent, principal, and other administrators will be available in the Welcome Center to chat informally about district efforts and priorities, and hear from families about their engagement with the high school.
- Equity Conversations: Staff will engage in group discussions focused on Equity and Inclusion – ETHS Student Experience.
- Bell Schedule: 7 – 9 p.m. Meet teachers and grade-level teams; hear about course curriculum.
- Parents and guardians will follow their student’s schedule, with 1st block beginning at 7 p.m. Parents may visit each of their child’s classrooms for 10 minutes to meet teachers and to hear about course curriculum.
- Grade-level deans, social workers, psychologists, and counselors will be available in cafeterias to provide information about student wellbeing resources.
No registration is required for the Open House. The Welcome Center (E112) will be open for coffee/tea and light refreshments throughout the evening, beginning at 6 p.m.
Additional Details. - Dress for Open House is casual and comfortable, especially shoes, because ETHS is a large building.
- The building is wheelchair accessible, and elevator service is available for adults who require assistance. Please note that teachers cannot provide personal conferences during Open House.
- Parents/guardians must follow their student’s current class schedule and are not able to visit classes where their student is not currently enrolled. Drop-in visits to other classes or teacher classrooms during unscheduled periods on your student’s schedule are not permitted.
- Please also be aware that students and adult guests will be expected to abide by school rules during Open House. This includes the use of cell phones and electronic devices, as specified in The Pilot handbook.
- To view your student’s schedule, log in to HAC with your guardian username and password, choose Classes and then Schedule.

- All requests for interpreters must be made by 3:00pm on Monday, August 22.

I do not understand this headline…Open House is a yearly event hosted by ETHS. Boosters has nothing to do with it. It is a school event hosted by the administration so parents/guardians can engage in meaningful conversations and meet their students teachers. This is extremely misleading.
