We have almost two weeks to catch up on, and so much has happened. Evanston is a busy place, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything. We understand that at the RoundTable and you do, too. To help us stay in touch, send your photos to news@evanstonroundtable.com, and we’ll share them with the community.
Thanks to Mary Mrugalski for capturing not only a beautiful late-August skyline, but also this seagull and its graceful grounding during a sunrise near the Northwestern University lagoon.

There was wind damage, downed trees and power outages in Evanston when storms cut through the city a few weeks ago. Renee Schleicher caught the clean-up crews clearing fallen boughs from a house on Hawthorne Lane in Evanston.
It was a joyous event and people continue to send in pictures of the street being renamed in JoAnn Avery’s honor for 40-plus years of service at Family Focus working with Evanston youth and families. Kelly Brest van Kempen took these of the ceremony that brought in hundreds of people to celebrate “Miss JoAnn.”
Barry Miller caught some of the construction crews at the north end of Lee St. Beach on the last Friday in August.

Marian Kurz caught what seems to be a rare moment after this summer season – a stretch of Central Street free and clear of construction.
