Submitted by The Woman’s Club of Evanston
Since 1889, The Woman’s Club of Evanston (WCE) has proudly supported organizations that make a difference in the community. This year, WCE is celebrating the 22nd year of its Community Grants Program.
Each year, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in Evanston and surrounding communities are invited to submit grant applications. Since 2000, the WCE’s Contributions Committee has designated an annual funding focus. For the 2022-2023 application cycle, the funding focus is as follows:
“The Woman’s Club of Evanston seeks grant applications from programs and organizations that serve Evanston, Skokie and Rogers Park by encouraging children to grow through the arts.”
The arts have been shown to foster healing and mental well-being and the Pandemic has taken an emotional and physical toll on society, particularly children. Funding is needed to support the many underfunded arts programs that help children develop and flourish.
Applications will be used to select recipients for:
- 2022-23 Community Grants (generally between $500 – $5,000)
- 2024 WCE Revue Beneficiary (between $20,000 – $30,000)
- 2024 WCE Spring Benefit Beneficiary ($30,000+) and
- 2023-24 Clubhouse Usage Award.
The applications are also used to identify organizations for Community Outreach volunteer short-term and single day service projects. All applicants should clearly describe how their project fits within the chosen focus area.
