Mary Toussaint, owner of Minouchic Boutique Resale, shows her favorite item, a wrap dress imported from Africa. “It’s just gorgeous,” she said. “I like the detailed sleeve and the color.” Toussaint opened Minouchic at 1900-B Asbury Ave. nine years ago. “I wanted it right here because this is where I grew up. I saw the need for a thrift store in the area,” she said. Online buying has hurt all small shops. Only a few customers stopped on Small Business Saturday. Toussaint perseveres; she believes in her store. “I’m doing it for me now.” (Photo by Richard Cahan)
