The Cook County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy on a woman who was found dead Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Holiday Inn North Evanston, 1501 Sherman Ave.
Evanston Police, via a news release, are also appealing to the public for help. They are asking anyone with any possible information on this woman or her death to call the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040 or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) and then start your message with EPDTIP.
Police also said that while they do not know the cause and manner of the woman’s death, their initial investigation leads them to believe there is no danger to the public and that the hotel will remain open.
The woman’s body was discovered in a sixth floor guest room by the hotel cleaning crew in the morning. Police and paramedics arrived at 11:16 a.m. after the hotel management called 911, according to the news release.
Neither Evanston police nor the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office have publicly identified the woman, who is described as a Black woman, possibly in her 20s or 30s.
Preliminary information from the medical examiner’s office says only that her death is not related to heat, cold or COVID.
The EPD release also said, “There are no persons of interest at this time and no one is in custody in reference to this investigation.”
