Submitted by the Evanston Fire Department
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, the Evanston Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at 4 Suns Fresh Juice, 1906 Main St.
First-responding companies quickly arrived at the scene and encountered darkened storefront windows and smoke visible from the roof line. The fire was quickly upgraded to a working fire response, bringing in neighboring fire departments to assist with the commercial fire and other calls within Evanston.
Due to a well-coordinated, aggressive interior attack, firefighters successfully contained the fire to the room of origin and extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes. The fire is still under investigation at this time.
One employee was able to self-evacuate prior to the arrival of fire companies. There were no reports of civilian or firefighter injuries.
A portion of Main Street was briefly closed to allow for the staging of fire vehicles, but has since reopened.
