Lindsay and Bobby Jernegan celebrate the first day of spring behind the Harley Clarke Mansion by making smores in the fire ring. The Jernegans and their three children along with about 20 other Evanston residents took part in the city’s spring solstice bonfire (actually more of a campfire) between the mansion and Lighthouse Beach. “We moved from California and we are used to being out all year,” said Bobby. “It’s nice to get back to the beach,” said Lindsay. The event was run by the Ecology Center. (Photo by Richard Cahan)
