Anthony Simpson leaves the Morton Civic Center after casting his ballot during early voting. Simpson, who retired last year after working 34 years as a custodian at Haven Middle School, likes the convenience. No line and no waiting. A total of 78 people voted at the Civic Center on Monday, the first day of early voting, and 94 voted on Tuesday. In addition aldermanic races in two wards, candidates are running citywide for three seats on the District 65 elementary school board and four seats on the District 202 high school board. Why vote? “I care about the future,” said Simpson. Early voting continues every day until the April 4 election. (Photo by Richard Cahan)
