Evanston’s water was named best in state. Testers declared Evanston tap the tastiest in an annual contest last week. Judges cleared their palettes with Triscuits between drinks from eight districts, said Darrell King, chief of the city’s Water Production Bureau. He brought the award home to the City Council. “Now we get to go to the nationals,” the American Water Works Association convention in June. In addition, King was named water professional of the year. He has worked for the city since 2015. That’s Bobby Burns, Fifth Ward Council Member, in the background sampling the award-winning product.
