Al fresco is back in town. Northwestern anthropology grad students Syd González (from left), Jax Krause and Andrew Kim took their lunch outside in Fountain Square for the first time this year. While not lunching at Sweetgreen, González is studying “the material embodiments of masculinity in Houston,” Krause is researching “water management of the ancient Maya” and Kim is examining the linguistics of computational agents – like Siri and Alexa. They hope to earn their Ph.D.s in six years. (Photo by Richard Cahan)
