The joy of being a team. Evanston Wildkits freshman baseball players gather on the field after defeating Maine South 9-4. “They are a great group of kids,” said coach Ben Wilson (foreground). “They’re hilarious.” Wilson shares coaching with Marcus Mixon (right), who had to work Tuesday’s game as a fill-in umpire. “I was as fair as possible,” he told the team. Both coaches played for the Wildkits. “I didn’t realize until much later as an adult how much baseball relates to life.
