As part of the next stage in the Participatory Budgeting process, community members are encouraged to register to vote on proposals prepared by volunteer budget delegates on how to spend $3 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by City Council.
Proposals are currently in the development stage and will be released later this summer. Community voting will then take place online or in person between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30.
Community members should register to vote online in advance. When the voting portal opens, those who have registered will receive an individualized code that will allow them to vote online.
Those who do not register in advance can still register throughout the month of September and vote at in-person voting events, which will be announced at a later date.
Anyone with a “meaningful connection” to Evanston who is 14 years of age or older can vote. A “meaningful connection” refers to those who live, work, study or own a business in Evanston.
