Hello! I’m Julie Chernoff, the new Food Editor for the Evanston RoundTable, and longtime Evanston resident. Perhaps you’ve taken one of my cooking classes, or read my work as a food journalist (thanks for that!). You may remember me from the Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board, Woman’s Club or Evanston Community Foundation. Or maybe our kids played baseball or danced together, or shared the halls at Evanston Township High School. Because in between all of the writing and cooking, I’ve been deeply involved in the Evanston community over the last 30-plus years.
That’s why I’m so excited about what’s cooking at the Evanston RoundTable – because Evanston matters to me. And there’s no better news resource for staying connected than the RoundTable, which serves the whole community with integrity and honesty.
You’ll find city news, of course, but also information on all the things that make Evanston unique, from our spectacular lakefront to cultural events, school updates and now – our new dedicated Food page, with restaurant reviews, seasonal recipes and more.
Here’s a newsflash: As a nonprofit, the RoundTable relies on readers to support its award-winning journalism.
So, if you haven’t already, I hope you’ll join me in becoming a monthly member, so the RoundTable can continue to cover “everything Evanston.”
How wonderful to see the wonderful Julie Chernoff join the RoundTable! An excellent addition to an excellent publication!
congrats and good news Julie
