Ms. Hancock is seeking public input to be incorporated into the design.
The art installation is expected to feature an interactive sculptural shape with etched words that embody the themes of learning, recreation and community within the context of the Evanston community. Ms. Hancock will attend three community events to meet with residents and gather public input on what words should be included in her design.
Community Events:
Nov. 1, 3:30-6 p.m.: Robert Crown After School Program, 1701 Main St.
Nov. 2, 9-11 a.m.: Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.
Nov. 2, Noon-3:30 p.m.: Robert Crown Flea Market, 1701 Main St.
Community members can also participate in the design process by submitting their words through a digital forum by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15.
