All are invited to join Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, 4th Ward Alderman Don Wilson, Downtown Evanston Board of Directors and staff, City of Evanston, Evanston Chamber of Commerce, and The Technology Innovation Center to celebrate the grand opening of GetPrinting3D on June 5th from 4pm-7pm. Stop by for light refreshments, to tour the office, meet the staff and experience live 3D printer demonstrations.
GetPrinting3D, a retail store selling 3D printers and supplies, will open on the 1st floor of 820 Davis in late June. GetPrinting3D is a "Retail Showroom and Demonstration Cafe" where people can experience this new technology in action, learn about the various 3D printing processes, design their own 3D objects, and have them made in-store. The store will also be a venue for businesses to compare and buy professional-grade printers for business use.
"We see our business as a venue where people of all ages can see the technology in use, learn, ask questions, use the printers, interact with 3D printing experts to learn more about this exciting technology and of course, purchase 3D printers and supplies" Brent Cox, Marketing Director said.
Cox also said that GetPrinting3D will also offer seminars and events designed for the business community. "Our vision is to have a balance between the business and consumer sides of the 3D printer industry. There's no real proven model for this type of venture so we&rsquo re anxious to see how it develops."
