Bessie N. A. Mbadugha took a hiatus from her previous life as a Chemistry professor to devote more time to her family, and became an active leader in numerous community initiatives in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Bringing that same energy to Illinois when her family relocated in 2019, she put her English BA to good use as a volunteer grant writer and education equity advocate. Bessie joined the RoundTable as a freelance reporter in 2021, with a focus on topics surrounding education, specifically in Skokie/Evanston School District 65.
