The Rangoli Drawing will continue October 14 and 15 from 11-3 pm. All are invited to participate. This event is part of the celebration to mark the 10th anniversary of Ten Thousand Ripples, (TTR) a citywide public art and peace project.
To mark the celebration, the Chicago Cultural Center has invited Indira Johnson to be the Artist in Residence at the Center and facilitate the Community Blessings Rangoli drawing and other Peace based arts activities. Embedded in a South Asian folk-art tradition the Community Blessings Rangoli drawing will embody wishes for the well-being of our community and demonstrate our collective hopes for a peaceful world.
The Rangoli drawing begins on September 30 in conjunction with the Ragamala festival and culminates on October 15 with a closing ceremony at 2:30pm involving Maggie Bridger and dancers from Unfolding Disability Futures.
