Evanston History Center “Evanston Originals: Creativity, Invention, Empowerment” exhibit opens May 14
May 14 @ 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
$45 – $50
The Evanston History Center announces the opening of a new exhibit, Sunday, May 14, 2023. House Walk ticket holders will be able to see the exhibit on opening day. About the exhibit: Evanston has been a home to a variety of creative innovations. An array of familiar – and surprising – products were created by people who lived or worked in Evanston. There are the well-known stories of Tinkertoys and the ice cream sundae, and there are lesser-known stories, such as the View-Master and the Hammond electric organ. Sprinkle in some couture, art, fictional characters, all manner of bottled refreshments, and a one-of-a-kind crazy quilt of celebrity souvenirs for a really eclectic look at Evanston’s contributions to the broader culture. After this Sunday, this ongoing exhibit will be open to visitors during our regular hours. Admission to the house includes access to all exhibits.
