Levy Lecture: Talking Senior Advocacy with AARP’s Philippe Largent
April 18 @ 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Free
Mark your calendars for a virtual Levy Lecture Tuesday, April 18 at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom with AARP’s new state director, Philippe Largent, in conversation with moderator Shane DuBow.
In March of 2022, Largent became the new director of AARP Illinois, the state’s largest outreach and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of those 50+. He and DuBow (old Evanston friends) will discuss AARP national and state priorities, including caregiving and recognition of caregivers, planning and saving for retirement, and improving the quality of nursing home care.
Philippe Largent has spent the last 25 years advocating for greater access to quality, affordable health care and other issues central to the well-being of Illinois residents. He is dedicated to leading AARP Illinois’ efforts to ensure that older adults across the state experience the health, financial security and livable communities they deserve.
Shane DuBow is a veteran writer, editor, and college essay coach with a background in long-form journalism, academia, and museum exhibit design. His work has appeared in a variety of national outlets (National Geographic, The NYT Magazine, This American Life) and he takes great pride in helping writers of all ages find their voice on the page.
