My Electric Genealogy

February 7 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Free! All welcome!

Part storytelling/lecture/live documentary film with an original score, “My Electric Genealogy” explores shifting cultures and politics of energy. Drawing from artist Sarah Kanouse’s grandfather’s work to design and build Los Angeles’ electrical grid—which became a kind of second family—the performance probes the aesthetic, ethical, and practical responses to this polluting fuel infrastructure, much of it located out of state and on Indigenous land.
