Free

Speaker: Amy Dale, Green Edens Horticultural Services
Program: Nancy’s Garden: Highland Garden Club’s Gift to the Community
Date: Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 from 1-3 pm
Location: Evanston’s Ecology Center, 2024 North McCormick, Evanston

Our Central Street Garden (across from Independence Park) will celebrate its one-year anniversary redesign this year. Come learn about the garden—the plants, the design, the work, the challenges, and much more. First 20 people to arrive at our program will receive a $5 coupon for use at our Backyard Botanicals Sale on June 3rd.
Amy founded Green Edens Horticultural Services in 2011 after studying horticulture at the College of Lake County. She is a Master Gardener through the University of Illinois and specializes in sustainable landscaping and design. She also founded the Garden2Table program at Ridgeville Park District in Evanston in 2012.

Amy has long been interested in holistic healing modalities and wholeheartedly believes that healing can be derived from many different avenues, including engaging with nature. Amy feels strongly that the health of mankind and the health of the earth are inseparable, and restoring the natural balance of the environment using native plants is at the core of her design philosophy. She worked with the Highland Garden Club to design and install the wonderful redesigned Central Street garden.
We appreciate your support of the garden. Remember to join us at our annual plant sale:

The Highland Garden Club of Evanston will be holding their annual Backyard Botanicals sale on Saturday, June 3, from 9 am until 3 pm (rain or shine), in Independence Park, 2000 Central Street, Evanston. Native plants that work in residential gardens for bees and butterflies will be available from Midwest Groundcovers, St. Charles, IL and from members’ gardens. Experienced gardeners will be there to answer your questions. All proceeds go to community projects and support such as a beautiful new community garden at the northwest corner of Central and Stewart right next to Independence Park and the sale. Cash and checks, please. Join us!
