Noon Concert featuring Vocalist Monica Perdue

Join us for the next Concert of our Spring Concert Series at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Evanston, IL. The concert is on Monday, February 20, at noon and will feature vocalist Monica Perdue accompanied by Westley Art Hodges. The concert is free and open to the public, and an offering will be collected to support the music ministries of St. Mark’s. For more information, please get in touch with Westley at

Details: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (1509 Ridge Ave, Evanston). Parking is limited to street parking, but plenty is within walking distance. St. Mark’s is located in Downtown Evanston, so there are many great restaurants to go to after the concert.

Details about Monica:
Soprano, Monica Perdue is a Chicago Music Association member, a product of the Chicago Public Schools System, De Paul University School of Music, the Chicago Classical Conservatory of Roosevelt University, Northeastern Illinois University and Quincy University. She is a regular soloist in Chicago and has worked with several performing arts groups in the area including: Concertate di Chicago, Rosenthal et al Dance Company, L’Opera Piccola, HUSH Opera, Chicago Opera Guild and South Shore Opera Company. She debuted the role of Vi in George Gershwin’s Blue Monday with the Chicago Opera guild and was a part of the inaugural Young Artist Recital Series presented by Park manor Church. In addition to these feats, she made her New York debut with the New York Metro Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Phillip Nuzzo in a recital with opera great Leona Mitchell. She has since been a chosen soloist by Dr. Roland Carter, and world-renowned soprano Kathleen Battle. She has sung with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti. She was recently seen as soloist, narrator, and small ensemble member with Kathleen Battle in her production “Underground Railroad”, and as Soprano Soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” at Morgan Park Presbyterian Church. She is a member of the Chatham Choral Assemble under the direction of Charles Thomas Hayes and regular featured soloist at St. Thomas Episcopal church under the direction of Dr. Keith Hampton. She is additionally music teacher at Providence Englewood Charter School; and director of the Beverly Neighborhood Choir with Uniting Voices Chicago (formerly The Chicago Children’s Choir).
