Rebuilding Exchange Summer House Party

eJoin the Rebuilding Exchange Summer House Party to kick off summer with live music, craft beer and bites, the first ever REMake Invitational for local artisans, and a Scraptacular Challenge for you!
You can expect:
-Live music on a stage made of reclaimed materials.
-Craft beer from breweries and bites from the food trucks you crave.
-Shopping among local artisans and makers.
-The first ever REMake Invitational competition where top makers and artists from around the region will show what they can do with $100 of reclaimed materials from our reuse retail store.
-Scraptacular™ Challenge team competition — join in to see what you can (re)make in 90 minutes or less!
-Opportunities to tour our facility and learn more about our programs and partnerships.
We are asking for a donation of $10 or more to support our mission. Tickets to participate in the Scraptacular Challenge are $40 for teams of up to four people. Your ticket supports the Rebuilding Exchange, a nonprofit that invests in Chicago and the region by reusing building materials, reducing construction waste, and training, supporting, and connecting people seeking careers in the building trades.
REMake Invitational:
We’ve invited top artists and makers from across Chicagoland to show what they can do with reclaimed materials from our reuse retail shop. Meet the makers, get inspired by their creations and bid for the chance to take one home with you during the REMake Invitational at our Summer House Party on June 3rd. One lucky maker will be crowned the inaugural REMake Champion — prizes to be announced!
The logistics: The minimum bid on each item is $100. Items must be made up of at least 80% materials sourced from the Rebuilding Exchange. Makers will be able to host a booth at the Summer House Party to sell their items. The action will begin at 6:30 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. Items must be paid for on June 3rd. They can be picked up through June 10th.

Scraptacular:
Grab your friends and let’s get scrappy! Tickets are $40 and teams can be up to 4 people or done as an individual. We’ll bring the tools, wood & metal scraps, hardware, and reclaimed making materials! You bring your vision and creative DIY spirit! Individuals and teams will have 90 minutes to build their scraptacular creations. Competition starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. Judging begins at 8 p.m.
Attendees will vote for the 2023 People’s Choice Award. Prizes to be announced! We can’t wait to see what you create!

About Rebuilding Exchange:
Rebuilding Exchange is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that invests in our communities by reusing building materials, reducing construction waste, and training, supporting, and connecting people seeking careers in the building trades.
In the last year, Our workforce training programs have served more than 100 individuals by training and placing them into building trades jobs and Union apprenticeship programs. We diverted 1,650 tons of reusable building materials from landfills through our two reuse stores, and more than 1,000 people have participated in our creative reuse workshops and community outreach programs.
