Silent Film Event | Charlie Chaplin’s “The Kid”
February 4 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
$25
One Night Only! Opus 327 is thrilled to present Charlie Chaplin’s “The Kid” with Jay Warren on the Skinner Opus 327 pipe organ!
The opening title of Chaplin’s masterpiece reads: “A comedy with a smile—and perhaps a tear.” It’s a heartwarming and timeless story, with Charlie at his best as The Tramp, who finds himself taking care of an abandoned child and facing a series of events that put their relationship in jeopardy. Come and experience the hijinx, pratfalls, comedy, and drama as only Chaplin can create!
Jay Warren, Chicago’s foremost photoplay organist, brings all the color, excitement, and glamour of the silent film era back to life with his original scores for the silver screen. As a regularly featured photoplay organist for the Silent Film Society of Chicago, he has accompanied most of the great silent films throughout his forty-year career in his famous rousing style.
This event is a fundraiser for the Opus 327 Centennial Fund. Tickets purchased in advance are $25 for adults; children 18 and under are free. Tickets at the door are $30.
