The 32nd Annual Evanston Garden Walk on June 26

The Evanston Environmental Association will host the annual Evanston Garden Walk this year on Sunday, June 26 from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are now available to purchase online at https://evanstonenvironment.org/gardenwalk. Beginning June 1, in-person purchase of tickets will be available at the Ecology Center and other businesses to be announced.

Spend an afternoon, rain or shine, strolling through eight noteworthy private gardens and a church garden that offers quiet green space to all who pass by. The Garden Walk showcases gardens that satisfy a broad range of interests to inspire the gardeners of today and tomorrow.

Here is a preview of some of the gardens on display this year:

• A garden that illustrates how to make a native plant and animal habitat in one’s own backyard (and in the front yard, too!)

• A condominium courtyard garden where each owner lends a hand, bringing their own creative vision to the mix.

• An 1899 showstopper that has integrated fruit trees and raised vegetable beds with plenty of space for outdoor living, all within a block of Lake Michigan.

All proceeds from the Evanston Garden Walk benefit the programs of the Evanston Environmental Association which include scholarships for children to attend the Ecology Center’s summer camps and the Apiary, home to 40,000 honeybees!

The Evanston Garden Walk will observe CDC guidelines for the safety of visitors and homeowners that include mask wearing and social distancing.

Admission is $20 for EEA members and $25 for nonmembers. Groups of six or more are $20 per participant. Tickets are $30 per person when purchased on the day of the walk.
