On February 6, 2018 there were three incidents, one armed robbery and two attempt robberies, involving vehicles.  In the 1600 block of Simpson Street  a female victim reported that three black male subjects 20-25 years of age attempted to enter her vehicle while she was parked.  The victim fled in her vehicle and reported to incident to the police.  In the 1400 block of Church Street a female victim reported that while she was exiting her vehicle two teenage black males approached her.  The victim reported seeing a handgun in an offender's hand.  The victim screamed and fled into her residence.  The offenders then fled the scene.  In the 2100 block of Church Street a pizza delivery driver was approached by two black male subjects 20-25 years of age.  One of the subjects pointed a gun at the victim's head and demanded the victim's property.  The victim then gave the offenders his wallet and cellphone.  The offenders fled on foot.

Car thefts and carjackings have been on the rise in the Chicago area. The Evanston Police Department asks citizens to be aware of their surroundings, do not leave cars running unattended, and report suspicious incidents to the police.  If a citizen is involved in an accident that appears suspicious call 911 and drive to the police department or another safe area.
