School District 65 Taking a More Focused Look at Discipline
On Nov. 12, Andalib Khelghati, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, and Joyce Bartz, Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, presented the Annual Discipline Report to the District 65 School Board, and used that as background to discuss some ways in which the District is attempting to get at the root of some behavioral issues in the schools.

MAP Normative Data Shows Significantly Higher Achievement Levels for CPS Students than NAEP or PARCC
In recent years, Paul Zavitkovsky, a researcher and leadership coach at the Center for Urban Education Leadership Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, noticed that MAP tests are generating significantly higher results than those generated by the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) and the Illinois PARCC tests.
