Editorial: Why Vote?
Politics has become increasingly distasteful. Attacks, negativity and outlandish financing have made their way onto the local scene. Room for a View: Cooperatively Hers
A friend needed to go to her bank on a Thursday afternoon.  Her bank turned out to be in the Jewel store on Howard Street near McCormick. When we got inside the store, my friend instructed me to sit on a bench near the bank. Editorial: Brett Kavanaugh Is Unfit for the Supreme Court
Judge Kavanaugh is not being prosecuted for a crime. He is seeking a lifetime job on the Supreme Court. The people of this country have an important right having Justices on the Court whose character and integrity are beyond reproach and whose honesty is beyond doubt, or at the very least beyond a reasonable doubt. He has the burden of demonstrating that. Based on what we have seen, he has fallen far short.

Room for a View: Where's the Truth?

I am not, and have never wanted to be a politician. But I am an American who believes in “We, the people” far, far more than “Me, the President.”

Room for a View: A Blessing in David
David’s patience with my friend was awesome. When talking with him about his kindness, he felt it was what people were supposed to be about. Did David make my day?  He sure did, and he made it for many a day to follow.

More Room: Staying in Tune

Think of bending your attention laser-like to your work the way kids do playing video games. Have you ever noticed a dog waiting for a scrap of food from the table during a meal? Now that is focused concentration!

The Evolving Cost of the New Robert Crown Center

In the Aug. 23 edition, the Evanston RoundTable charged that the Robert Crown Community Center (RCCC) project provided “virtually no discussion” of why this critically needed and widely supported project comes with a $53 million guaranteed maximum price.

As a board member of Friends of the Robert Crown Center (FRCC) who has attended nearly every City Council meeting where Crown was discussed, let me provide the necessary homework.
