More Room: My Faust Problem
I am obsessed with knowledge. I want to know everything. Well, not everything, of course, that is impossible, but the big things: quantum physics and plate tectonics and macroeconomics and…all the stuff I did not get around to studying in school because I was too lazy or preoccupied with other, more important stuff, like getting a date.

Room for a View: The Saints Among Us
Am I a saint?  “Who, me ?” Simple response, “of course not!” First of all, doesn’t a person have to die first to become one? And then there are the miracles. No way! Room for a View: Your Vote, Your Voice
Lunch with my young friend was going great. We hadn’t connected for a while, so catching up was our agenda, which we did with great pleasure.  Over coffee, though, we touched on politics and the coming elections. What followed felt for a moment like a cloud had swallowed the sun.

Room for a View: Moved
I recently moved from an apartment I had occupied for approximately 20 years.  Until this move, I had resisted labeling myself as a hoarder.  But if the truth be told, I am.

Editorial: Equity May Be Possible, Even Without a Clear Definition
Discussion of equity at the Oct. 27 City Council meeting became so mired in minutiae that it deviated from the crucial question, “Is the City’s proposed budget for 2019 an equitable one?”
