Evanston is getting a new Mexican fast-casual restaurant this spring: Dos Bros Fresh Mexican Grill.

The chain restaurant location will open in about two weeks at 1629 Orrington Avenue where Naf Naf Grill was, according to owner Pradhyum Patel. The restaurant will serve burritos, bowls, salads, nachos, tacos and quesadillas. Prices depend on the protein and toppings chosen and generally start at $9.85 for chicken, spicy chicken, spicy tofu, and veggies. Steak starts at $10.99, carnitas starts at $10.29, and barbacoa starts at $10.49.

Patel said he chose to open a store in Evanston due to the city’s popularity.

“It’s always about Chicago downtown, but Evanston is also a very key part of the Chicagoland area,” Patel said. “I just thought opening in Evanston might be a good opportunity to introduce the public to the new food that we have.”

The chain originally opened in 2015 in Cleveland, Tennessee. Six years later, Dos Bros opened a store in Chicago in 2021, and there are currently six locations in Chicago.

Evanston’s store will be the first on the North Shore.

Patel said he’s waiting on some signs and equipment to come in before opening.

For Patel, Dos Bros will add to the community. It will serve as “a new place for people to gather and eat and enjoy the food,” he said.
