A walk around Evanston Township High School on Oct. 16 in response to recent violence in Chicago public schools drew a crowd of about 70 – including Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, Alderman Delores Holmes, District 202 School Board members Rachel Hayman and Gretchen Livingston and community leader Bennett Johnson. The group “We Want to Live” organized the march in the wake of the beating death of Derrion Albert at Fenger High School. The walk was sponsored by District. 202, District 65, Evanston Community Development Corporation and other local organizations.
