An 11-year-old and his father celebrate the warm spring weather with raspberry and cherry slurpees.
Weekend weather to celebrate—with a Slurpee. That’s exactly what 11-year-old Tucker Thomas McDermott did with dad Tucker Christopher McDermott (they are exact about their names when they are together) after Tucker Thomas’ lacrosse practice. He’s on the Evanston Youth Association Lacrosse team, which opened its season on Sunday with an overtime win against the Arlington Attack. The lacrosse player went with a huge raspberry Slurpee; dad followed with a smaller cherry. The Slurpees were their first of the season. Surprisingly, the Tucker McDermotts did not plan on sneaking their big drinks into the house so close to dinner. Said Dad: “We’ll show my wife. I don’t think she’ll care.” Credit: Richard Cahan
